(Sudbury, ON) Technica Mining, one of the largest Canadian owned, underground mining and construction contractors, continues to strengthen its leadership team by promoting Jim Lundrigan to Chief Operating Officer. Jim has an extensive background in the mining and metals industry with over 33 years of experience.

Born and raised in Sudbury, Lundrigan started off as an underground miner, working his way through various duties and roles including those in smelting, Human Resources and Mines Engineering. He successfully took on various senior management roles for a global mining company with his teams having been recognized with the annual John T Ryan award 3 times as the safest metal mine in Ontario. Jim helped develop mine operating systems including: mine production tracking & scheduling, workforce utilization tools and a unique health coaching program. He was a volunteer Mine Rescuer for many years and was part of 2 Provincial Mine Rescue championship teams. Jim sat on and served as Chair of the Ontario Mine Rescue Technical Advisory Committee for many years. He has a known reputation for his commitment to employee health and safety.
Jim says, “I am humbled by Mario’s support and excited to begin this new chapter in my life working with the incredible team he’s built at Technica Mining. We will continue to build on past successes and set a new standard in world class mine contracting.”
He is currently the Vice Chair of the Science North Board of Trustees and plays a significant role in the“Go Deeper” expansion project for Dynamic Earth. His experience in different aspects of mining development, production, construction and maintenance as well as the development of a health program geared towards the industrial worker makes Jim a valuable asset to Technica Mining.
